Using a staple gun isn't "surgery".
The medics are support infantry, They can carry arm-mounted compartmented shields, stocked with trauma gear, including nano-conveyed anesthetics, chemical modifiers, and attenuated lasers for on-site surgery.
Originally, medics were not equipped with weapons, but due to the limited number of combat personnel, they began to be equipped with the rapid-fire C-14 gauss rifles.
The medics have two modes: Combat Mode that allows them to use primary weapon and Healer Mode that allows them to quickly heal wounded allied biological units. Due to obsolete components in the medical CMC armor variants of existing colonies, their energy resources are depleted and do not recharge. However, this problem can be fixed with the right items.
